Overview
Rats
pose a significant health risk to humans and pets, carrying or
transmitting serious diseases, such as Weil's disease, salmonella,
E.coli and tuberculosis, as well as fleas, mites and ticks that can
cause acute allergic reactions. They are also probable carriers of foot
and mouth disease on farms, and their urine can pollute stagnant water.
Contaminating more food than they consume, they can infest and ruin
foodstuffs and cause serious structural damage to buildings, pipework
and wiring systems with their constant gnawing. Any rat problem in the
home, garden or workplace must be treated urgently. While amateur DIY
products are a cost effective way to control rat problems in low risk
areas around the home, an Enviroguard professional should always be
called in for infested business premises, or where there are more
established colonies/repeated infestations.
