Badgers and bats
• Badgers and bats, are, together with their habitats,
protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, and cannot be
disturbed without a special licence.
• If they are causing a nuisance, Enviroguard can contact and liaise with the appropriate authorities on your behalf to effect a speedy solution to the problem.
Birds
• Some birds have always proved a nuisance by being in the wrong place at the wrong time. But recent media coverage of the spread of 'bird flu' by migratory birds has caused further concern.
• Enviroguard has specially trained and licensed technicians who can safely capture birds for health surveillance and harmless release back to the wild, while taking every care to strongly defend our native non-pest species and harmless migrating visitors.
Foxes
• The urban fox living in our towns and cities is a not-infrequent sight, scavenging through our litter late at night, and can be viewed as a threat to domestic pets and poultry.
• Unfortunately, urban foxes are often in poor condition, suffering from conditions such as mange, malnutrition and physical injury, and may, on occasion, need to be humanely euthanased.
• However, if they are fit and healthy, an Enviroguard technician will carefully trap the offending animal, and release it back into the wild in a suitable location.
